Meet the faces behind David Barber Occupational Health:

David Baber

Managing Director

David qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1987. As a student, he was a soldier in the Territorial Army, joining the Royal Army Medical Corps. After 5 years and 2 tours of Northern Ireland, he worked for BP as a Rig Medic and Safety Advisor. David moved to Nottingham, working as a Nurse on the Acute Medical Admissions unit. He later became an Occupational Health Advisor for Imperial Tobacco. David has a BSc in Health Studies, a graduate Diploma in Occupational Health, is on the Specialist Register with the NMC, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health.

Kate Franklin

Operations Director

As well as being our Operations Director, Kate is also one of our Occupational Health Technicians. Kate joined when the company was first established and has helped grow the company along with David and the rest of the team. Kate is our client’s main point of contact as she controls the diary and makes sure everyone knows where they are meant to be each day! Kate has also completed several Occupational Health courses over the years including drug and alcohol testing, face fit testing, audio and spirometry. Out of work, Kate enjoys playing the drums and going to the gym.

Lisa Cooke

Technical Director

Lisa is our Technical Director part of her duties include making sure all the equipment is calibrated and all the staff’s training is up to date. She also is one of our Technicians carrying out Health Surveillance and heads up our Drug and Alcohol screening programme. Lisa has completed a number of Occupational Health qualifications, including spirometry, audiometry, face fit testing and drug and alcohol testing and together with Kate has enrolled on a course ‘Certificate in Management of OH Services’. When she is not working, she enjoys going to the gym, socialising and being “mums’ taxi” to her two children.

Anita Bell

Occupational Health Technician

Anita is the newest member of the team. She has recently completed her qualifications in audiometry and spirometry. Anita’s main role is to carry out our company’s health surveillance. When she is not working, Anita’s favourite hobby is going away for weekends in her caravan and socialising with her friends.
