Each year at David Barber (OH) Limited we have a nominated charity which we support. Last year we supported Prostrate and Breast Cancer Research and David and his wife walked the London Marathon through the night and raised over £1000.00.
This year, we are raising money for The Alzheimer’s Society and Lisa and David along with their partners will be walking the Race to the Stones race which is a 60-mile walk set in Wiltshire.
The charity this year has been chosen by Lisa as she has lost two grandparents to Alzheimer’s and her dad also suffers from the disease.
Lisa’s dad was diagnosed when he was 61, less than a year after retiring from work. He deteriorated steadily over about 6 years to which he was able to be cared for at home, but he is now in the late stages and has been residing in a nursing home for the past 7 years.
We are hoping to raise as much money as possible to help find a cure for this disease and we hope you will support us.
